So you have a dream …

You have a dream …

You’re probably wondering what the heck is this title and what could I possibly have to say in relation to this. I’m not trying to quote Martin Luther King Jr. I’m not here to give you a rosey, uplifting sense of hope with empty, meaningless words. I’m just here to be real with you.

I had a thought today. That thought prompted me to write this blog post. I took a look at my life … I mean a real look at my life. It’s the kind of soul searching that we tend to avoid for fear of what we might uncover or be reminded of. And you know what? I saw something interesting. Despite the many obstacles I had to face and am still facing, I’m more blessed now than I’ve ever been.

It’s funny, because, if I had to finish the title of this blog post, I’d say I looked at myself and told myself this: So you had have a dream … and it hasn’t quite been realized yet. Now what?

What do you do? Where do you go from here? Is the dream even worth it anymore? Should you still chase it? It’s been so long. Are you chasing smoke that you will never be able to grasp? The questions are endless. The ‘what ifs’ are endless. It’s a losing cycle. Don’t put yourself through it.

Here’s the deal. Don’t hate me for it, but, while I do believe that if something is meant for someone they will be blessed with it when the time is present for them to have it, this is also true of the opposite. If something is not meant for you, no matter how much you try and push and force it, it will never truly be yours. That’s the laws of nature and the universe.

We can attract both negative and positive energies and as a result, we experience both hardships and pleasures in life. But, when you have a dream that you are chasing and you don’t think it will ever happen, I’m not saying you should stop chasing it. Instead, when in doubt, focus your energy on gaining the discernment you need to see clearly. There’s a high possibility that you may have been chasing the wrong dream or not seeing the barrier you need to break through for your dream to be realized.

There are people who fulfill their wildest dreams with hard work, dedication and perseverance. When the time was right, they succeeded amidst their failures because it was meant for them in their lifetime.

Chances are, you may have the ‘ideal dream’ staring you right in the face and you’re so consumed with the one that’s not coming true, you fail to see the amazing blessing just waiting to be bestowed upon you.

Now, you’re probably wondering how could you know if something is meant for you or not? There’s no easy way to tell, unless you can predict the future. But, if you open up your mind and pay very close attention to your instincts and the vibes and things happening around you, you will be led in the right direction through all of the obstacles to where you need to be. And, as long as you do right by yourself and others, you will have a ‘fulfilled dream,’ whether it’s the one you were chasing or not.

Why? Because even if we tend to chase our biggest dreams, in reality, they are not the only ones we have in life.

So you have a dream … once it’s meant for you, it will be fulfilled when it’s the right time. But, you’ll still have to do your part for it to manifest in your life.
